Nail Biting First Night for New Coaches

The football game was riddled with anticipation on the first home Friday night of the season two weeks ago; not only because it was the first game of the season, but also because it was a night for new beginnings. Although that anxious feeling can be a bit unpleasant, it can also let you know that you may be onto something great.

This year, Manitou has employed a new band director, a new football coach, and a new cheerleading coach. It was also the first football game that the class of 2018 would attend as high schoolers. Many of the parents and teachers who attended reported that they believed it to be the loudest game in a long time, filled to the brim with Mustang Pride. Everyone, from audience members to flute-players, were cheering on the Mustangs.

The game was a fourth quarter nail-biter, with Manitou loosing by a mere three points to Faith Christian. All things considered, it was a great way to kick off the season.
