The Manitou Springs High School volleyball team won the highly-anticipated game against CSCS on Tuesday, September 29th.

The visiting fans planned to make the game a “white-out” by dressing entirely in white. Manitou students planned a “black-out”. The competition between the student sections added even more tension to the game.

The Mustangs won in the first two sets before CSCS led the third by eleven points. The Lions also took the fourth match, which forced a fifth match between the two top-ranking teams.

The beginning of this match filled the gym with a sort of electric buzz from the spectators, officials, and athletes. Both teams are expected to preside at the state competition on November 13 and 14.

The Mustangs won 18-16.

The next home volleyball game will be on October 3rd against La Junta.
