Students and staff experience new building renovations

Over the last winter break Manitou Springs High School had many renovations, mostly to the hallways with new carpeting and lighting with the removal of past senior composites.

Dalton Gates is a senior at Manitou Springs High School. He likes to write short scripts in his free time. His passions include film, writing and photography. Although, Gates hates The Breakfast Club. He is ecstatic to improve his writing and work collaboratively with others on The Prospector.
Morgan Flannery
Morgan Flannery, Editor-in-Chief
Morgan Flannery is a senior at Manitou Springs High School. Flannery has been writing stories for the Prospector since her sophomore year. Flannery enjoys going out with friends, going to concerts and enjoying time outside skiing and hiking. She is very excited for senior year and writing about all of the fun that the 2024 senior class will have. 
Cordelia Portman
Cordelia Portman, Senior Reporter
Cordelia Portman is currently a sophomore at Manitou Springs High School. She has four cats named Misty, Stormy, Ari and Sheldon. She enjoys playing Uno with her grandma, baking apple turnovers and playing the piano. She dislikes beds with less than five pillows. She is excited to use her love for writing to make an impact with the Prospector.
MaKenzi VerVaecke
MaKenzi VerVaecke, Editor-in-Chief
MaKenzi VerVaecke is currently a junior at Manitou Springs High School. She helps to manage football in the fall. In her free time she enjoys cooking, and watching TV shows. One of VerVaecke’s favorite things is to go to other MSHS games, specifically basketball and volleyball. She however dislikes white chocolate and blue cheese. VerVaecke is excited to continue growing her journalistic career as an editor this year.
Ari Clark
Ari Clark, Senior Reporter
Ari Clark is a junior at Manitou Springs High School. They enjoy drawing and playing Dungeons and Dragons with friends when they have time. Along with being a member of the Prospector Staff, they are involved with school theatre productions. Clark loves the arts and plans to study them in some capacity once they graduate. They look forward to contributing to The Prospector for the next two years in as many forms as possible.
Angela Rowe
Angela Rowe, Senior Reporter
Angela Rowe is a senior at Manitou Springs High School. Rowe is a fan of hiking, going to concerts and being outdoors. Rowe currently does not participate in a team, but she has loved softball her whole life. Rowe spends her nights after school and on the weekends working at Savelli’s. She highly dislikes blue cheese and seafood. Rowe is looking forward to expanding her writing ability this year in journalism.
Katelyn Fonkert
Katelyn Fonkert, Senior Reporter
Katelyn Fonkert is a senior at Manitou Springs High School. In her free time, she enjoys skiing at Keystone and Breckenridge as well as reading and writing. Fonkert plans on pursuing a degree in English, and hopes to use this degree to write a book and teach English Language Arts at the high school level. Fonkert looks forward to building her writing skills and gaining knowledge that will help her pursue her writing career.
