Dalton Gates is a senior at Manitou Springs High School. He likes to write short scripts in his free time. His passions include film, writing and photography. Although, Gates hates The Breakfast Club. He is ecstatic to improve his writing and work collaboratively with others on The Prospector.
MaKenzi VerVaecke is currently a junior at Manitou Springs High School. She helps to manage football in the fall. In her free time she enjoys cooking, and watching TV shows. One of VerVaecke’s favorite things is to go to other MSHS games, specifically basketball and volleyball. She however dislikes white chocolate and blue cheese. VerVaecke is excited to continue growing her journalistic career as an editor this year.
Jack Boyd is a senior at Manitou Springs High School. Boyd enjoys roller skating and exploring music. They are an eager-to-learn writer and poet, using this year to hone their skills further. Boyd dislikes annoying toddlers and the lines at the DMV. They look forward to using their current journalism knowledge and learning more as they work on The Prospector.
Cordelia Portman is currently a sophomore at Manitou Springs High School. She has four cats named Misty, Stormy, Ari and Sheldon. She enjoys playing Uno with her grandma, baking apple turnovers and playing the piano. She dislikes beds with less than five pillows. She is excited to use her love for writing to make an impact with the Prospector.
Kaleb Cervantes is a sophomore at Manitou Springs High School. Cervantes enjoys playing drums and guitar and loves photography and art. He is eager to graduate and go pursue journalism in college, using this year as a stepping stone towards that career path. Cervantes dislikes mushrooms with a passion. He looks forward to gaining new experience skills from the Prospector.
Halli Frost is a junior at Manitou Springs High School. She loves soccer, journalism and choir. She loves learning new things and being open to new opportunities. Some of her hobbies are taking pictures, hiking and playing video games. She is hoping to focus more on sports and physical health this year. She is excited for all of the great things that this year will bring. Her quote for the year is “Work smarter for the things you love, not harder.”
