Both basketball teams suffered a frustrating loss after the struggle against the CSCS Lions on Tuesday, January 24. The girls kept the game close the entire time until the last possible second. They trailed behind by a mere point going into the half 15-14. They fought to tie it up by the middle of the fourth quarter 31-31, and the Lions jumped up 34-31 with about four minutes left, ending the game with a close win. Following the girls game, the boys also kept a tight game until the end of the fourth. Lucas Rodholm (12) managed to fit in an aggressive dunk, leading the overflowing student section to go wild. Cole Sienknecht (11) led in points with 16, followed by Jared Keul (12) with 11 points. The boys were tied 38-38 until the referees made a call that gave CSCS the ball at 12 seconds left. They drew out the clock until it was within five seconds and then broke through to score, leaving the Mustangs with a disappointing defeat 38-40.
