Volleyball Season Comes to an End

Paige McKenna and Avery Norwood

Yesterday, October 22, the volleyball C-Team completed their season with an outstanding win. With only two losses in the entire season, they ended on a good note.

Coach Luisa came with a good mind set for this season along with every player on the team. An outstanding win against the Dolores Huerta Scorpions with a win win of 2 out of 2 games.

The year started off with almost every girl showing up to open gym’s. This summer every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 AM to 11 AM. The coaches, Coach Squires (Varsity) and Coach Black (Assistant Coach JV), were able to recognize the determination and dedication that each player put into making the team. Coach Luisa came at the beginning of the season to coach C-Team. The manager, Jocelyn Farmer, was asked to be the manager for all three teams. She attended each home and away game to support and cheer on all three teams.

Junior Varsity’s last game/tournament will be held and Cheyenne Mountain on October 24, 2015. Saquoia Hagan (9) started off as C-Team/JV and was later swung up to JV, along with Allie Coleman (9) and Caileen Sienknecht (9). Sadie Caywood (10) and Shelby Hard (11), were both swung from JV to Varsity about halfway through the season. McKayla Cully (9) started off as a player for Varsity but practiced and played with both Varsity, and JV.

Overall, the C team, JV, and Varsity had an exceptional season as Varsity will continue to look forward to going to State on November 13 and 14.
