Girls’ basketball defeats Buena Vista

On Tuesday, February 24th, the girls’ basketball team faced off against Buena Vista in the first league bracket.
The game began with the Mustangs immediately displaying a strong offense. The first quarter ended in a score of 16-0 in the Mustangs’ favor.
The girls continued playing diligently throughout the game. At halftime they were up 32-11. Third quarter had the most fouls, with Buena Vista at 10 and Manitou at 8.
The game ended in a score of 57-27, meaning that the girls’ basketball team will advance further in the League Championships.
Their next game will be Friday, February 27th against Trinidad at Pueblo Central High School. Trinidad is currently sixth in the state, while Manitou is placed second.
