Mid-Terms Schedule to Change for 2015-2016 School Year
October 20, 2015
The new finals schedule has everybody overthinking the intensity of this years tests. Last year, there were two half-days in which students took their finals. Students took their first and second block finals on the first half-day, and their third and fourth final on the second day. Students were used to the fact that they were released at 11:40 each day, which allowed them time to recharge and prepare for the next day of testing.
The schedule this year has changed drastically. Now, the schedule has been made out to be a full day of school both days, so everyone can study for their remaining tests. People might like to have the extra time before the test is taken to memorize as much information as possible. Bailey Visscher-Nickerson (11) says, “I honestly think that the new schedule sucks because with the half-day schedule we had in the past, we had more time to come down from the stress of taking mid-terms and finals.”
As soon as people have experienced the new schedule, maybe everyone will warm up to the idea of a full day of school. Or maybe it will be a refreshing new tradition here at Manitou Springs High School that will just be something to get used to.
