The Mustangs traveled to Lamar on Thursday and got sent home with a loss. The Mustangs had a good first half and were only down by a score against the number four team in the state. However, in the second half, two big plays by Lamar gave them a three-score lead and the Mustangs couldn’t pull back in time. The Mustangs fall to 3-4 and 1-2 in league play; they will play at home against Woodland Park on Friday, Oct. 25.

The volleyball team had a tough task having to play the undefeated Lamar Thunder. The Mustangs put up a good fight but lost in three sets. The Mustangs are now 2-16 overall and 2-6 in league play. They look to take a win in two games next week first at Colorado Springs Christian School on Tuesday, Oct. 22, and home against Salida on Thursday, Oct. 24.

Boys Soccer: 

vs Lamar High School 2-1

Manitou Springs Boys Soccer came away from their first league game with a win. Avery Scott started the scoring and the Mustangs got lucky from a Lamar own goal. This win improves the Mustangs record to 9-2-2 as they look to go undefeated in league play next week as they take on Atlas Preparatory Academy at home on Tuesday, Oct. 22, and at Woodland Park on Thursday, Oct. 24.
