How to Make It “All Around the World” During Homecoming Week

Homecoming is not only a dance, but a week to show school spirit. Each day of Homecoming week, Manitou Springs High School (MSHS) will have dress up days, girls playing football, boys cheering them on and a very exciting football game. Here are the events to know about for the exciting week:
Saturday September 16:
Movie Night is at 8 p.m. STUCO will be showing “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” in the school parking lot.
Monday September 18:
Dress-Up Day Theme: ‘Merica Monday. Show pride of America by dressing up in as many variations of the American Flag as possible!
Powder Puff is at 6:30 p.m. at the middle school field. Powderpuff is a game of football but the girls play football and guys are the cheerleaders.
Tuesday September 19:
Dress-Up Day Theme: Tacky Tourist Tuesday. Hawaiian shirts with socks and sandals are the way to go.
Wednesday September 20:
Dress-Up Day Theme: Wanderer Wednesday. Dress up as someone who is wandering in the woods appreciating nature.
Thursday September 21:
Dress-Up Day Theme: Class Colors/Toga Day. Freshman dress in blue, Sophomores dress in black, Juniors dress in Pink, and Seniors dress in either purple or a Toga.
The Bonfire is at 8p.m. Come to the Upper Activity Area to watch the bonfire and hangout with friends.
Friday September 22:
Dress-Up Day Theme: Green and Gold Day.
The homecoming assembly will be full of crowd involvement, lots of fun games and a performance from the cheerleading team.
Homecoming Parade is at 1:30 in Downtown Manitou.
Homecoming Tailgate: Come at 4p.m. to get some food and help support the MSHS Cheer Team!
Homecoming Football Game: Come to support the MSHS Football Team playing against Englewood at 7 p.m.
Saturday September 23:
The Homecoming Dance is at 8 p.m. Come dance with the theme of Around the World. Tickets are $10 and VIP tickets are $15. With VIP, early entry, free food and an exclusive VIP room is available!
