Ms. Gocinski is a first-year teacher at Manitou Springs High school. She comes from a background of teaching adults in a non-traditional setting. The art field appealed to her for how she enjoyed self expression, and self growth.

Gocinski says that she enjoys Manitou because of how positive the students and staff are, and how beautiful the area is. She is excited to teach her first year of full-course printmaking and to go into new depths of the art.

If you are looking at moving toward the art field, Gocinski says, “Don’t be discouraged if one type of art doesn’t jive with you, pursue what you are passionate for.”

Her favorite artist has to be Wassily Kandinsky for his eccentric, abstract style. Her favorite style is abstract expressionism, and she enjoys metal smithing. She would rather choose realistic types of art rather than cartoon.

When she is not teaching, Gocinski enjoys hiking, cooking and painting.
