On Saturday December 15th, Manitou Springs High School is holding their second annual Holiday Craft Show.
“The craft fair is supposed to promote the goodness of homemade crafts for gift giving,” said Wendy Skokan.
Items such as wick-less candles, wooden signs, dream catchers, jewelry, herbs, oils, Avon, photography pieces, pottery, sweater mittens, horseshoe art, wood furniture, and much more will be sold by venders. About 40 vendors are expected to be at the event.
Seniors Jesse Swedlund and Alex Caffery are chairing the event for Student Council, and Wendy Skokan is the head organizer of the event. “I think my favorite part is working with Wendy and planning an event for the first time is really exciting,” said Caffery.
Skokan has a booth “DeSigns by Wendy”, where her homemade crafts will be sold. “Please come by and see me. I would love it,” said Skokan.
The money will go directly to the vendors, but the vendors rent out a space from Student Council, which will give Student Council money as well.
WORRRMS will also have a booth where members will sell many different items: homemade jewelry, baked goods, etc. The money will go directly to the student selling their items.
The fair is an all day event starting at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m.
Flyers promoting the fair were passed out by student council members in, Ute Pass, Manitou Springs, Woodland Park, and Old Colorado City.
Skokan hopes to keep this tradition in our school. “Hope to see everyone there, you won’t be disappointed, promise!”
