The Mustangs won their first game this season against the St. Mary’s Academy Wildcats.
The game, which took place Dec. 5, 2012, ended with a final score of 31-14.
Coming after Nov. 29’s disappointing loss against La Junta, this victory was important in setting the team up for a good season.
The game started strongly for the Mustangs, as they ended the first quarter with a seven-point lead. At half-time, the Mustangs were up 20-8.
The team maintained that lead for the remainder of the game, with plenty of help from Senior captain Meghan McGee, who made three 3-pointers during the course of the game.
Senior captain Gabby Santos was pleased with the result of the game. “There was a team improvement, and it’ll be exciting to see where we go from here.”
