Avengers: Age of Ultron Review

Ashley Rodriguez, Senior Reporter

Marvels Avengers Age of Ultron (2015) is one of the greatest movies Marvel has produced.

The Marvel universe began with the movie The Avengers: Avengers Assemble, which was just a battle against Loki (Tom Hiddleson), the God of mischief and lies. The threat to the world for Avengers: Age of Ultron is a dormant, peacekeeping program forced into action by none other than the Billionaire Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.). The story takes off after Captain America: the Winter Soldier and Thor: the Dark World.

The Avenger team must defeat Ultron (James Spader) and the Maximoff twins, played by Elizabeth Olson and Aaron Taylor-Jonson, without the help of S.H.I.E.L.D, since both HYDRA and S.H.I.E.L.D collapsed in Captain America: the Winter Solider.

It also made a surprising appearances of Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) from Captain America: the First Avenger. The movie also reveals the horrific past of the Russian Assassin Natasha Romonoff (Scarlett Johansson).

Marvel also created a “marvel version” of D.C. Comics Superman the marvel version who is known as The Vision and he was played by Paul Bettany who also was the voice for J.A.R.V.I.S. (Tony Starks security system)

Most critics state that the movie was great and it was a thrill, but others say that there was so much action that if you blinked you missed the scene. There is a lot of action in this film, but I feel that it is not to much to drive the viewers attention away from the film.

Top critic Tom Long from Detroit News stated, “For the most part, ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ is the hard-charging, mind-boggling spectacle fans are looking for. Smash indeed.” It was a thrilling film that keeps watchers on the edge of there seat. There’s a lot of surprising things that happen that most people don’t expect.

One of the critics, Ken Hanke from Mountain Xpress, stated, “It’s too big. It’s too frenzied. It’s too full of characters it can’t contain. Mostly, it’s just too much everything.”

There are a lot of new characters that joined the team. I feel that it’s better to have more characters than having the same four heroes save the world. It is an action film, it needs to have action.

To me, the best scene of the movie was when Hawkeye was giving Wanda a pre-battle speech. “Doesn’t matter what you did, or what you were. If you go out there, you fight, and you fight to kill. Stay in here, you’re good, I’ll send your brother to come find you. But if you step out that door, you are an Avenger,” he said.

The cast for Avengers is suiting up for another movie. Captain America: Civil War is going to be released on May 6th 2016. Joining Captain America will be Winter Soldier, Falcon, Agent 13, Hawkeye, and Ant-Man. Over on Iron Man’s side is Black Widow, War Machine, Vision and Black Panther.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is a must-see movie that has the world’s greatest heroes ready for battle. It has been released to DVDs and blu-ray.
